posted on: Jul, 02 2008

Today brings us, “Pineapple Express,” the sooo ’80s and agreeable theme song for Seth Rogen’s pot actioner of the same name by Huey Lewis and the News (Sports, Patrick Bateman’s Walkman).

You can stream the film’s entire soundtrack on MySpace, which includes tracks from Cypress Hill (so ’90s), Peter Tosh, Bell Biv Devoe (my second babysitter, Pam, is siked!), Public Enemy and Mountain. Wow, Huey Lewis just said “chronic” in his signature happy hour jock croon.

Legendary comedian and thinking man, George Carlin, died today (Sunday) from heart failure at a Santa Monica hospital. He was admitted on Sunday afternoon after experiencing chest pains. Sadder still, Carlin was to receive the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor from the Kennedy Center this November. No word on how that event will proceed, but let’s hope it will be a fine send-off from his peers for a career that spanned five decades. Carlin said this regarding the reward: “Thank you Mr. Twain. Have your people call my people.” That is one phone call that warranted a tap.

posted on: Jun, 20 2008

Kevin Smith is having issues getting Zack and Miri Make a Porno by the ratings board.

“The MPAA is gunning for us, I think. It’s a really filthy movie. I hear they are having some problems getting an R rating from an NC-17 rating, which is never good,” Seth Rogen told MTV. “A guy f—ing a donkey, they ain’t got no problem with. But a man and a woman having sex they seem to have real issues with, for some weird reason. It’s insane. It’s completely insane.”
