Steve Carell Signs For Three More Years of The Office!

posted on: Jun, 26 2008

Steve Carell has signed on to star as Dunder Mifflin’s quasi-top dog, Michael Scott, on NBC’s The Office for three more years. Ricky Gervais, broke the news on his official blog.

“Steve Carell (now one of the most bankable film stars in the world) has just signed up for another three years with us. He is the hardest working man in Hollywood and the harder he works the better it is for me. I mean… well done Steve you are wonderful. …Steve had to do months of that in Evan Almighty and I heard he didn’t complain once. He is a very nice man and deserves all his success.”

R.I.P. - George Carlin Dead at 71

posted on: Jun, 22 2008

Legendary comedian and thinking man, George Carlin, died today (Sunday) from heart failure at a Santa Monica hospital. He was admitted on Sunday afternoon after experiencing chest pains. Sadder still, Carlin was to receive the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor from the Kennedy Center this November. No word on how that event will proceed, but let’s hope it will be a fine send-off from his peers for a career that spanned five decades. Carlin said this regarding the reward: “Thank you Mr. Twain. Have your people call my people.” That is one phone call that warranted a tap.

Robert Downey Jr. Calculating Numerous Projects. McGee, Sherlock Holmes…

posted on: Jun, 12 2008

Robert Downey Jr.

In recent weeks, the 43-year old actor Robert Downey Jr. has had his eye on various projects, including Twentieth Century Fox’s Travis McGee (based on John D. MacDonald’s detective series), Warner Bros.’ Sherlock Holmes update from director Guy Ritchie, Gary Ross’ fantasy/comedy Dog Years at Universal…

Of course, like McGee, Sherlock Holmes would also give Downey a second viable franchise at a studio to compliment Iron Man, as Warner Bros. is positioning the classic character as a James Bond type.

Hopefully, he will choose wisely at end.

Inglorious Bastards…coming to Cannes in 2009?!?

French interviewers really know how to make an good interview. Just ask the right question. This time, on other side was Quentin Tarantino. You know him, from such a movies like Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and many more. Anyway, everybody’s waiting his new film project and here’s some exciting quote from QT, while he was answering tons of questions for french guys.

Oh, yeah, no. The next movie I’m doing is my WWII movie Inglorious Bastards. I actually just finished the first draft of the script and when I go home I’ll be finishing it up…and if all goes well [pregnant pause] I will be here 2009 at Cannes with my war film INGLORIOUS BASTARDS!!! [applause].”

Believe it or not, this is OFFICIAL announcement from QT. Which means, year from now we’re gonna watch some bloody R-Rated QT War flick. I’m all for it.

What about you?

After the Iron Man End Credits: Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury Appears

posted on: Apr, 30 2008

Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury does appear but not until after the surefire blockbuster’s end credits. He also delivers some spoiler-worthy dialogue. Anyway, here’s a little article from australian journalist Adam Richard:

“Sam Jackson as Nick Fury is indeed in Iron Man. The final spool of the film was not screened to journos and reviewers as it only arrived in Australia yesterday ahead of premiere screenings. I saw the film a few weeks ago to prep for a Downey Jr interview, and went again last night (cos i loved it SOOOO much!) and at the end of the credits is an awesome 40 seconds or so with Stark and Nick Fury. I may have soiled myself slightly…”

Some crazy things we’re gonna hear more from upcoming Iron Man movie.
