The Dark Knight Voted #1 Movie of All Time on IMDB

posted on: Jul, 19 2008

Now on Saturday night, and with 19,000 more votes counted, the film has propelled into the coveted #1 spot! Of course, The Dark Knight is expected to slide down the list as more and more votes are added to the average, but it’s worth noting this almost unprecedented accomplishment.

The top spot has been held by The Godfather since sometime in the late 1990’s (this late 1996 capture of the chart from the early days of IMDb shows Star Wars in the top slot). As far as I can tell, no film has unseated The Godfather from the top spot in the last decade. The last film to get even close was The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, which got a high as the #2 in 2004. Return of the King currently sits comfortably at #14.

Huey Lewis and The News’ “Pineapple Express” Hits Web. Awesome!

posted on: Jul, 02 2008

Today brings us, “Pineapple Express,” the sooo ’80s and agreeable theme song for Seth Rogen’s pot actioner of the same name by Huey Lewis and the News (Sports, Patrick Bateman’s Walkman).

You can stream the film’s entire soundtrack on MySpace, which includes tracks from Cypress Hill (so ’90s), Peter Tosh, Bell Biv Devoe (my second babysitter, Pam, is siked!), Public Enemy and Mountain. Wow, Huey Lewis just said “chronic” in his signature happy hour jock croon.

First Review Compares The Dark Knight to Heat and Godfather 2

posted on: Jun, 25 2008

Good day is today for all around the world The Dark Knight fans. First review has hits the interwebs, more specific it’s on AintItCool site. We’re gonna just to represent you few important things from the very first The Dark Knight review.

Here’s some quotes:

“The film feels more like a crime drama in a grand city scape than a typical comic book movie. It feels like Heat except Batman is Al Pacino and The Joker is Robert De Niro and just like in that film we have a great scene between Heath Ledger and Christian Bale across a table. There is also an element of a Greek Tragedy.. There is a vast sense of morality at play within the film.”

“The Joker is almost more of a terrorist than criminal. He is not motivated by money. He wants to see people suffer.”

“The run time is two and a half hours. It doesn’t feel that long as there is so much going on within the film.”

French interviewers really know how to make an good interview. Just ask the right question. This time, on other side was Quentin Tarantino. You know him, from such a movies like Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and many more. Anyway, everybody’s waiting his new film project and here’s some exciting quote from QT, while he was answering tons of questions for french guys.

After the Iron Man End Credits: Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury Appears

posted on: Apr, 30 2008

Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury does appear but not until after the surefire blockbuster’s end credits. He also delivers some spoiler-worthy dialogue. Anyway, here’s a little article from australian journalist Adam Richard:

“Sam Jackson as Nick Fury is indeed in Iron Man. The final spool of the film was not screened to journos and reviewers as it only arrived in Australia yesterday ahead of premiere screenings. I saw the film a few weeks ago to prep for a Downey Jr interview, and went again last night (cos i loved it SOOOO much!) and at the end of the credits is an awesome 40 seconds or so with Stark and Nick Fury. I may have soiled myself slightly…”

Some crazy things we’re gonna hear more from upcoming Iron Man movie.

Indiana Jones 4: First Review and Some New Photos

posted on: Apr, 21 2008

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I really don’t know how much we can trust this source, but it seems someone has seen has seen Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Reaction about movie goes something like this:

  • “The best of the Indy sequels.”
  • “The film has the strongest supporting cast of the sequels.”
  • “There are many breakneck set pieces, with a protracted jungle chase being particularly memorable. As well as being evocative of the truck chase from the first movie.”
  • “…an ending that any longtime diehard fan of the films could only dream about. Expect a particularly resounding reaction in the theater.”

Anyway, that’s not all. We have new production photos and that’s not all.

Click for more after the jump.
